Last year, only Rudolph was allowed in the house, not Santa. 

 

This year, Gracie said Santa is allowed, but he MUST shave his beard before he comes in...

Bell Girl

Bell Girl is back again this year, but she's been a little lazy... taking naps in the same place for a few days. Luckily, she came back with a message for Gracie!

Sounds like it's time to use our listening ears and go to bed on time!

Thanksgiving 2013

 

We started our day with a family hike and had a wonderful dinner at Aunt Kate's, where Gracie is spending the night.  Happy Thanksgiving! 

 

 

Double Cousin Trouble

They were playing so quietly until we discovered Gracie had been playing makeup artist on her cousin Maeve....

Gracie says...

I'm doing something very sneaky. 

While I pour her milk...
G: Why you get to do everything?
Me: Because I'm the Mommy.
G: And the boss?
Me: Sure. 

After Gracie had a bad day at school...
Me: You need to apologize tomorrow.
5 minutes later...
Gracie: What means polish eyes?  (apologize)

I'm sweaty so I want grapes.

We don't want to get a splinter.  A splinter is when your heart breaks in two.

'Up & Down' is officially down. RIP to our first fish - you were good to us!

A sprained ankle and a flu shot thrown in while visiting the pediatrician this morning. We are questioning Supergirl's abilities...

Hair

3 Years Old

Dear Gracie,
Your 3 year check up wasn't until August this year so I'm late in getting this up.  You've always enjoyed going to the doctor and this trip was no exception.  You loved when the doctor checked to make sure there were no butterflies in your ears, although you were a bit disappointed in the sticker supply this time around.  The Happy Meal afterwards made up for it :)

Here's how you are measuring these days:

• Weight: 33 lbs (70th percentile)
• Height: 36 inches (3 feet!!!  30th percentile)
• Head: I think you got too old for this measurement

Talking: NON-STOP.  You love asking questions and constantly want us to tell you stories. Some of my favorite Gracie-isms: jelly "swamwich," "dind't" and "dinferent," asking for "cinnamon rolls" in your hair (a bun), attending "free-K" and the list could go on forever! 

Likes: Dora is still a favorite, mermaids, pink & purple, your swing set, telling us you are about to do something "sneaky," princesses, playing "hair do-er," doctor, school, mommy & baby and all sorts of pretend.  You just started up soccer again and loooove to run.  You ran a few kids races this summer and have a few more coming up.  You also love to dance, will do it just about anywhere and enjoyed yourself in a ballet camp this summer.  It was a little too structured for your free spirit, although you were the hit of the class with a dance style of your own!  Your favorite foods have remained the same - mac n cheese, yogurt, cheese sticks, hot dogs etc.  You are also great about eating your healthy foods, like fruits, veggies and fish. 

Soccer

1st day of Gracie's fall soccer class, warming up with Daddy! Somehow her hiney peeks out regardless of what she wears...

Puddles

A very important part of childhood... Jumping in rain puddles!

Mermaid Party

Gracie had a ton of fun at her mermaid party!  We made mermaid/mermen crowns and necklaces, wore  fancy mermaid tails and mermen capes, ate pb & j sushi, shells & cheese and octopus hotdogs, had a Dora mermaid pinata and topped it off with a special mermaid cake!

The day after, she told me she had the biggest, best birthday party ever!

Ballet

Gracie had her first ballet class tonight...

she had a few moments where she got tired of what the class was doing and spent some time in her favorite yoga pose,

 

but overall, she loved it!

Between selling our old house & settling into our new home, we have been busy...

We are looking forward to many memories here!

It's just a little tricky to keep my eyes closed to sleep.

I stayed up too late so now I have sleepy problems.

Mother's Day 5k

Couldn't have asked for a better day!!!

Millie

Gracie put it best the day before we said goodbye to our sweet Millie girl last week: “Millie-ill is going to Heaven. It is a happy place where she’ll be with Grammy.” (Grammy Anderer)

We had five good years with her and will all miss her dearly, especially Gracie.  Luckily, she has three years of happy memories with her “Millie-ill Galvers.”

Rest in peace, Mills.
